I was a Participant

From AFSC's "Friendly Reflections"

My recollections go back to 1921 where, as a grammar school student, I received Quaker "Speise" a nutritious hot chocolate that helped counteract the pervasive starvation in Germany. How I loved that drink! Many years later as a refugee from Hitlerism, I found solace by visiting the AFSC and volunteering my services. Where ultimately my economic situation permitted it, I contributed handsomely to AFSC. May you flourish forever!
