About

Peace Works: Century of Action was created as part of the centennial celebration of the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), a Quaker organization founded in 1917. It is space for people whose lives have been touched by AFSC to share their stories and reconnect with us, and each other.

We have summarized AFSC’s work in a series of topic areas that highlight issues and events from the past and present. We invite you to explore the site and then add your story to the most relevant topic area. Your participation will help tell the full AFSC story.

You can also find entries from friends and colleagues on the Connect page, to see a list of others who have posted stories and pictures.

As soon as you add a story, you can let your friends know on Facebook and/or Twitter with just a click, so they can read your story and get involved too.
