In 1963 I participated in a Voter Registration project in Greensboro, NC, sponsored by AFSC. I was a college student, and this project opened my eyes and my heart. After two weeks of living in the basement of a Black church we got on a bus at night under police escort (we were a group of Black and white students) and woke up in the morning in Washington, D.C. Martin Luther King's dream became my dream.
